A marquetry atelier that has outlived twelve French heads of state. A lacquer house whose founder began at seventeen, now run by his own children. A quarry worked underground since the closing years of the 19th century, still extracting the same stone. None of this happened because we asked nicely. It happened because Curoq spent years earning the kind of relationship that isn't for sale to a competitor with a bigger budget and no history in the room.j

Twelve houses is not the end of the research. It is the current edge of it. Behind every name on this page sits a deeper file — provenance, technique, the specific reason a stone from one quarry behaves differently than the same stone forty kilometers away. This is what "material intelligence" actually means at Curoq: not a tagline, but an accumulating body of knowledge, refused a place on this page until it was understood completely.
Some of that research becomes physical. The Curated Series — bound, printed, handed directly to the architects and designers we work with — is where the library leaves the archive and enters someone's hands. Access is not open to everyone. Three exclusive materials define this house's work: Ceppo di Gré, extracted underground since 1897; Nuvolato di Gré, its geological "mother stone," found at the contact point between Ceppo di Gré and the region's main dolomite; and Aggloceppo®, an engineered material made by vibro-compacting the quarry's own by-products with white cement, natural pigments, and fibers — nothing wasted, nothing outsourced, and not terrazzo, but a proprietary invention of their own.

An internationally recognized university building, honored at the World Architecture Festival — its stone supplied and worked entirely by this house, from underground quarry to finished façade. A rare case of a material supplier's name entering the same sentence as the architects who won the award.

A poetic and functional collection that lets marble and metal interfere with each other on purpose — grooves cut into an organic-textured slab, then inlaid with hand-welded, acid-etched brass. Vertical storage surfaces for bathroom and kitchen, shelving and bookcases for the living area, or a fully customized solution built to a project's own logic.

Stone, Grooved for Metal
Corchia marble finished with an organic "Moonface" texture, grooved 10mm deep in a rectangular rhythm, then fitted with laser fiber-cut brass — polished and burnished by hand, scotch-brite brushed, sealed under a catalyzed matte primer.
Every metal insert is laser processed and hand-welded before it's acid-etched with the same sensitivity a jeweler would use — then set permanently into the marble's own grooves. The result reads less like storage furniture than a single continuous drawing that happens to hold things.

PAGINE — PURELY ITSELF
Corchia marble panels up to 3cm thick, machined by 3D numerical control into grooves of 15, 20, or 25mm depth — cut in modular lengths of 62.5, 125, 250, or 500mm, so the "sentence" can be rewritten at almost any scale a project asks for.

As if they were the polished pages of a marble notebook — vertical and horizontal lines drawn into stone, scanning the surface in a steady rhythm until the grid itself starts to read like writing. A geometric algorithm, not a decoration: full and empty sections punctuate the marble the way words and pauses punctuate a sentence.

Decades of extraction expertise turned toward pattern rather than pure material — over thirty engraved textures cut directly into natural stone, marble, and porcelain. Placeholder textures shown, ready for real photography. Every texture begins as a natural, unpatterned slab — the studio's own concept treats the engraving process as revealing something already latent in the stone, rather than imposing a design onto it.
The studio's founding concept treats stone as something closer to living material than raw resource — texture applied not as decoration, but as a way of letting a surface hold light and shadow the way skin does. Project-specific details pending confirmation before publication.

Three-dimensional textured panels, milled from solid wood since 1962 — single-relief and double-relief carving that turns a flat surface into something with genuine tactile presence. In the 1990s, this house delivered 350,000 lacquered panels for a single national commission in Libya — a scale of order that would strain most modern manufacturing operations, completed by a family workshop working to the same standard it holds for a single custom door today.

A Bridge Between Two Cities.

Founded in 2007 by architect Chiara Enrico, working alongside her sister Anna — the name itself a portmanteau of Milan and Shanghai, a bridge between the two artistic cultures Chiara encountered while living in China. What began as a fascination with hand-painted silk, a tradition dating to 18th-century Chinoiserie, became a Milan atelier that now operates closer to haute couture than to wallpaper manufacturing.

A mosaic house built on mixed materials as a discipline, not a novelty — natural stone, Venetian glass, mother-of-pearl, Italian terrazzo, and metal, combined freely within a single pattern. The Jardin series began as one chapter, inspired by the botanical opulence of Victorian gardens, and has since grown a second: deeper into organic texture, handcrafted stone, and the idea that a garden — like the collection itself — is never actually finished.

A DISCIPLINE, NOT A DECORATION
A garden that grows a second chapter.
Most mosaic collections stop at one idea. This one didn't — a full second chapter, built a year after the first, going further into organic texture and handcrafted stone rather than repeating what already worked. For a mosaic to earn a place inside a luxury interior, it has to survive being looked at every day for a decade; the level of hand-cut precision here is built for exactly that kind of scrutiny, not a single photograph.

Wallpaper printed from specially carved wooden stamps, entirely by hand — the same irregularity that makes hand-printing unrepeatable also gives each roll a texture no digital process can fake. A "Collectibles" edition marks the studio's first use of digital printing — but the source pattern still begins as a hand-carved wooden stamp, meaning even the most modern roll in the collection carries the same origin as the oldest.
A Wall That Carves Itself.
MATERIAL INTELLIGENCE — ARCHITECTURAL STONE
The designer conceives and hand-carves a single original form. Everything after that — reproducing the shape into modular units that extend freely both vertically and horizontally — is handled by 3D matching technology. The result is a self-supporting stone wall that behaves like both structure and ornament at once: solid enough to stand on its own, perforated enough to let light and depth pass straight through it.

Built from two forms — a square, deliberately not orthogonal, and a cross — both drawing on the texture of naturally fractured rock and eroded stone. Laid together, the two elements generate an ever-changing landscape of texture, color, and light rather than a repeating pattern. First presented as a site-specific installation inside a historic state archive.

Timeless geometries, honoring one of Italian design's defining 20th-century figures — his rigorous, elegant sense of proportion translated directly into contemporary porcelain surface. Where Numen looks toward nature, Montedoria looks toward design history itself.
